Storage Co was built on a simple belief.

James Rennie-Swan founded the business after years of working overseas in demanding, high-service industries, from luxury hospitality and super yachts to car wholesaling across New Zealand. When he returned home to Dairy Flat to start a family, he saw a clear gap in the local market: a storage service that people could genuinely trust, run by someone who understood the value of what they were leaving behind.
Storage Co is the result. It is not a faceless yard or an automated lock-up. It is a locally owned, owner-operated facility where James personally meets every client, manages every tenancy, and takes real pride in the security and care of everything entrusted to him.
28 years in Dairy Flat
James has called Dairy Flat home for nearly three decades. He knows the roads, the community, and the people. Operating locally is not just a business decision; it is personal. His facility sits within the community he has always been part of, and his clients are neighbours, not strangers.
For residents across Silverdale, Millwater, Milldale and Orewa, this means working with a storage provider who has genuine roots in the area, not a national chain managed from a head office elsewhere.
When James is not looking after his clients, he is spending quality time with his young family.

Years in the super yacht industry taught James how to look after things that matter, and how to manage the needs of clients who expect nothing less than excellent. His car wholesale business, operated across New Zealand, developed his logistical thinking, his eye for detail, and his understanding of vehicle care. His hospitality background gave him a natural ability to read what a client needs and solve problems before they become issues.
Together, these experiences make for a storage operator who genuinely understands the value of what you are leaving in his care.

Because security starts with trust. Knowing who is on our property allows us to maintain the standard of care that every client deserves. The 15-minute orientation is also a chance for you to see the facility, ask questions, and feel confident about your choice. It takes 15 minutes and saves a lot of uncertainty on both sides.
What experience do you bring to looking after high-value items?
James spent years in the super yacht industry, an environment where the care of expensive, irreplaceable assets is not optional.
